A stunning view, a warm welcome and a great breakfast - we couldn't have asked for a better setting to discuss the hot topic of the moment! "Efficiency in the Digital Age" was the theme of our DIS side event at the Hamburg International Arbitration Days, hosted by Taylor Wessing in their newly renovated lounge on the 21st floor of their Hamburg office.

Our event focused on efficiency in arbitration from the perspective of an arbitral institution, offering insights into the daily challenges of case management at the brink of digitalization. Members of the DIS Case Management Team shared their experiences, notably with the recently introduced DIS eFile platform which allows for the digital management of arbitration and other ADR proceedings.

The presentation particularly focussed on the following benefits of DIS eFile:

  • Efficiency:  Streamlining the arbitration process, reducing the time from case filing to resolution
  • Accessibility: Ensuring all parties have easy access to case materials and communications from anywhere at any time
  • Transparency: Providing a clear, auditable trail of case proceedings and documentation
  • Security: Employing state-of-the-art security measures to protect sensitive information

Following the presentations, the audience had the opportunity to engage with questions, sparking an engaging discussion. This dialogue provided the DIS valuable feedback for future improvements and the further development of a FAQ document, which will soon be accessible to our users.

We extend our gratitude to our hosts and participants for their engagement, which will guide our ongoing enhancements. We look forward to seeing you again next year in Hamburg!
